New KTDC boats arrived at Thekkady.

KTDC Boats

Boating is one of the main attraction in Thekkady. Lack of this facility was affected the tourism sector in here. Based on the issues faced by travelers and tourists KTDC has arranged new boats, which can accommodate about 120 passengers.

The two-deck boat, constructed by Praga marine engineers at Aroor at a cost of over Rs 1 crore.

Flower show : Second week

The flower show which has started on April 1 stepped into the second week of the show at Kallarakal gardens ground on the Kumily-Thekkady road.
Arts show are going on which showcases traditional art forms, art competitions for children, and an exhibition of medicinal plants. The highlight of the flower show are special flower plants brought from Bengaluru and Pune, the organizers said.
A nature-wildlife photo exhibition, caricature exhibition, farm produce stalls and seminars are taking place part of the flower show.

Bloggers are ready to wind up from Kozhikode

Bloggers at Kozhikkode

The 30 bloggers from various part of the world had a taste of Kozhikode's hospitality on 29th Wednesday with district administration and various organizations taking an active interest in entertaining them. 

Joint Director of Department of Tourism M.V. Kunhiraman and District Collector U.V. Jose were among those who welcomed the Blog Express team to Kozhikode.

The bloggers day at Kozhikode started by getting involved by decorating the walls of Government Model Higher Secondary School, Mananchira, as a part of ‘Manichithrathoonu’ project of Compassionate for Kozhikode. In the following session, they have undergone a lesson in kite-flying later under the aegis of One India Kite Team that had represented the country in various international kite festivals. 

The bloggers faced the early afternoon heat on the Kozhikode beach and learned to manage the ‘Kathakali’ and ‘Circle’ kites under the guardianship of team captain Abdulla Maliyekkal and other members. Later on, The Blog Express visited Sargaalaya Arts and Crafts Village in Iringal.

Cochin Biennale is a new bandwagon to attract Europeans



Kerala tourism is all set to leverage the internationally respected tourism program, Kochi-Muziris Biennale (KMB) to attract Europeans. Biennale the biggest festival in South India, which is a four-month festival of visual arts was the flagship product showcased in the first of a series of such road shows held last week in Spain, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Russia.
A three-minute film on the modern art event, launched by the state's Tourism Department, triggered an impulsive response in Barcelona (Spain), Prague (Czech Republic), St Petersburg (Russia) and Kiev (Ukraine), a government press release said.

A hounarable Initiative by Kerala Tourism

KBE, Kerala Blog Express has flagged off the fourth edition (also known KBE-4) by Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran on 20th Monday 2017, the Kerala Tourism Initiative under which 30   travel bloggers from different parts of the word are going to explore the state and write down their experience.
KBE  take travel writers from 29 countries to  Kumarakom, Alappuzha, Thekkady, Munnar, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasargod before reaching Thiruvananthapuram, its final destination, on April 3. The initiative aims at admitting the state as a must-visit tourist destination to a wider, international audience.
The bloggers were selected via voting. Besides UK, Germany, Italy and Spain, travel writers from Moldova and Gibraltar are also traveling in KBE-4. Dipanshu Goyal from New Delhi is the sole Indian writer in the posse of travelers, while Carla Mota from Portugal is the most experienced blogger, having traveled around 82 countries. Most of the bloggers are visiting India for the first time.
